VIRGIA B. PALMER SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Virgia B. Palmer Scholarship fund exists to financially assist those qualified individuals seeking to attend an accredited institution of higher learning. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of past academic performance, extra-curricular involvement and potential for success. Created in 2010, this scholarship fund is named after the late Virgia Bridges Palmer, a 65-year member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Simpson County, MS and its surrounding community.  Her lifelong commitment to education includes a 41-year teaching career, reaching four generations of Simpson County students, and her leadership as matriarch of the Cotton family for much of her life.
